Russian PM says Putin supports one-time pension payments
MOSCOW, Sep 6 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has supported the government’s decision to make one-time 5,000 ruble payments to current pensioners in January 2017 instead of indexation, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting with United Russia members on Tuesday.
“All of you know about a made decision over pension indexation in the second half of the year in the form of one-time payments of 5,000 rubles, the president has supported this approach,” Medvedev said.
Russia can return to the common practice of pension indexation by inflation already in 2017, Medvedev also said.
